Our supported independent living options are designed to support NDIS participants with daily tasks and help them live independently while building life skills. We provide emergency, respite and medium term accommodation with 24/7 support from our specialised carers.

Supported independent living is about living in a space you can call your own with round the clock support from qualified carers to ensure you are safe. We will find a suitable housing option for you, help you settle in and provide the ongoing care you need to live more independently.

A place to be yourself

Our goal is to make sure our clients feel understood, safe and secure. We want them to have room to live their way. We will help them to set up their home just the way they like it, but they make the decisions about how the space looks and works for them. Through accountability, we foster independence in our clients.

While we are here to help our clients with their daily routine, we always respect their privacy and independence. We like to think of our carers as really helpful guests in their home.

Dependable support

Stability and routine is often important for people living with complex mental health and wellbeing needs. Each of our participants receives at least one-on-one support (sometimes two-on-one support) from a fully qualified carer to help them with daily living activities. All our carers and support workers are employees, so our participants can rely on consistent dependable support from a familiar face.

Our supported independent living services are delivered by fully qualified, specialised support workers who care about your wellbeing. Our priority is to actively support participants with their daily living activities while helping them to develop life skills and live independently in a place they can call home.

Personal transition plan

We love seeing our clients move ahead in life. To ensure you have the best chance at independent living we’ll work with you to create a personal transition plan. Together we’ll identify areas where you need help and set goals to aim for. We will ensure your home environment will be safe for you and how many carers you need. All our clients receive at least one-on-one care, or sometimes two or three-on-one care depending on the complexity of their needs.

We’ll also help you to develop a range of independent living skills. So, day-by-day you can achieve more for yourself and be proud of your success.

Daily living support includes:

  • Planning your day
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Shopping, meal preparation and cooking
  • Budgeting
  • Cleaning, laundry and gardening
  • Health support and managing medications
  • Pursuing hobbies, interests and passions
  • Engaging with your local community
  • Taking public transport

Each client’s support team meets regularly to discuss their needs and progress. We invite the client, their family or advocate and members of their healthcare team as well so everyone is on the same page

Community Participation

Part of living independently is getting out and actively participating in community life. We offer all our clients the opportunity to be involved with community participation programs. Whether it be going out for coffee, ten-pin bowling or nature-based activities, we’ll help you find your feet in your local community.

“We highly recommend Aspiring Futures. From the very beginning, Aspiring Futures were focussed on person centred care. They put a lot of emphasis into getting to know their new client (our family member), and making sure the environment and team fitted their needs.”
